Continuous upward casting (or up casting) is often used to cast copper and copper alloy rod and tube. In this process, molten metal is pulled vertically upward through a mold. Continuous Upward casting can produce hollow tubing and tubing with specialized geometry that is useful in applications such as heat exchangers.
