Snap Gauge

A snap gauge is a precision measuring instrument with a C-shaped frame featuring two opposing jaws, one fixed and the other moveable. It is primarily used for rapidly and accurately measuring the external dimensions of cylindrical or round objects, such as shafts, pins, and threaded parts. When measuring, the operator places the workpiece between the jaws, ensuring proper alignment.

Some snap gauges include a built-in indicator or dial gauge that displays precise measurement results. Additionally, certain models incorporate a go-no go functionality to quickly assess whether the workpiece falls within the acceptable range. These gauges find widespread use in manufacturing settings, where they provide fast and accurate assessments of components to ensure they meet specified tolerances and quality standards.
