Crankshaft

In the M40 engine, the crankshaft stands as a pivotal component responsible for converting the reciprocating motion of the piston into the desired rotational motion. Constructed from steel, this critical element plays a central role in driving the engine’s power generation. To ensure smooth and efficient operation, the crankshaft undergoes precision grinding, a meticulous process that guarantees its dimensional accuracy and surface finish. The high-precision grinding technique is instrumental in achieving the tight tolerances required for the proper alignment and functioning of the engine’s internal components. As the heart of the engine, the crankshaft’s robust construction and precise machining contribute to the overall performance and reliability of the M40 engine.

The crankshaft is also responsible for transporting the fuel/air mixture into the crankcase. It’s radial orientation is important to control inlet timing as it acts as valve.
